...Being Saved...
 |

These are the final days of this earth. The time is near that it will surely come to its end...even the scientists are telling us that. Where, and in what condition will you be when the heavens reveal the Lord Jesus Christ at his final return? Thousands say, "I don't know...what should I do?" The answer is simple...join the ranks of the SAVED.
"But how do we do that?", comes the question. The answer is, and has always been, in the Book...the Bible. It is the Word of God, and it answers every question. Look in the Book of Mark, Chapter 16, verse 16...
16... He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
There it is. We must accept the fact that jesus Christ came to this earth, died, was resurrected, and lives; then show the world we believe by entering into the act of baptism. Doesn't seem hard, does it? But we know that in this present world, where anti-Christianity abounds and millions are deprived of the Word of God, it is hard. Nevertheless, if one chooses to accept the fact, and follow the teachings, he or she will be saved.
No, it is not easy. There will be persecution, ridicule and derision because of your devotion to Jesus. For some reason the world considers the teaching of "love one another" to be a threat. Therefore, disciples of Christ must be strong of character and stubbornly determined to follow His Word. Take note that His Word tells us, in Matthew 24:13...
13:... But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
We see, then, that the decision to accept the Lord Jesus Christ cannot be taken lightly. It will require endurance as well as determination. What then, is it a heavy load to belong to Him? It seems like it, doesn't it. But it is not as it would seem to be. Remember, Jesus said, in Matthew 11:28...
28... Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
Many people don't realize the benefits that come with the acceptance of Jesus. Let me tell you a little story that took place shortly after my family and I dedicated our lives to His service
It was in the early '70's, and we were living in West Palm Beach. I was driving a lawn-spray truck for a local company, and in West Palm Beach, it was a hot job. As I headed home for lunch on this particular day I passed a vegetable stand along the side of the road, and I thought to myself, "Boy, I sure would like a nice, cool salad." However, I was flat broke that day, so I just kept driving without giving it another thought. When I got home, my wife met me at the door and handed me a 5-dollar bill.
"One of our friends sent his wife over with this and said the Lord told him to give it to us," She said. As it happened, I knew exactly what to do with that 5 dollars. And I am here to tell you that I have never eaten a more delicious salad in all my life.
A small blessing? Maybe to someone looking on, but to me it was a miracle. And it demonstrated to me how the Lord listens and knows and supplies our needs when we take on the task of living for Him. There are many more wonderful blessings that accompany a relationship with Jesus... healings, fulfilment of personal needs, financial needs and family needs and even miracles. In short, we are no longer alone. We have someone to turn to for every requirement, and we no longer have to worry about death or the judgement. I think that makes any and all suffering worth it, don't you?
One other thing...anyone can be saved anywhere at anytime. Since the Lord is omnipresent, we can approach Him whenever we're ready...and that's a whole lot better than coming before Him when we're not ready. The timing is up to you, God has given us a free choice. My family and I have made ours, and boy am I glad!

In Jesus' Name,
AMEN
